Free to Respect Each Other is a collection concept rooted in the observation of society's dictation of what it is to be "normal" and how this has affected many cultures over time. In this case the historic legislation of mental asylums was the focus of the collection, drawing from moments in time when people were persecuted and incarcerated for things that are commonly acceptable and seen as normal today.
This in turn, tells us that just because society says a particular way of being is right within the era you live, it doesn't mean it's true.
People are often judged for being different, but easy to say- different is what makes the world interesting.
Designs are inspired by a multitude of reasons that lead to the incarceration of the alleged mental patients and the variety of personalities swallowed by a system that deemed them a threat to society.
Dominating 1940’s inspired heavily tailored jackets, combinations of wool and silk and fluffy, comfortable slippers highlights the contrasting perceptions of how we see us, how we feel about us, how society sees us and how society makes us feel individually.
Through the use of fine tailoring, high quality natural fabrics along with a comfortable fit, Bajoras presents a collection aiming to empower what it means to be different.
